SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST


Position Description

Title: Senior Financial Analyst

Department: Real Estate & Finance

Reports To: Director, Finance


Function: An exceptional individual to provide analytical support for an expanding publicly-traded lodging company with more than 150 hotels in 26 states and the District of Columbia. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with multiple departments including Operations/Asset Management, Design and Construction, Accounting, and Acquisition to analyze and identify opportunities for growth and profitability, and enhance planning and reporting processes. The incumbent, will play a critical role in various strategic initiatives, including acquisitions, dispositions, equity raises, and debt restructurings.

Responsibilities:

Corporate Finance
  • Prepare quarterly key metrics and analyses for use with quarterly earnings releases, SEC filings, and investor presentations
  • Update and maintain the Company’s corporate and debt model
  • Monitor and adhere to compliance requirements for monthly, quarterly, and annual covenant deliverables
  • Perform analyses of various strategic activities that may be presented to the Board of Directors (e.g. share repurchases, follow on offerings, acquisition activities, strategic planning, etc.)
  • Support all capital market activity
Transactions
  • Assist with all aspects of executing acquisitions and dispositions, including due diligence, review of documents and participating in the closing process
Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Assist in the development of complex forecasting models and analytics to drive operational efficiencies.
  • Utilize business intelligence tools to obtain data and build reports for senior management
Investor Relations and Board Communication
  • Prepare for earnings call including scripts and press releases
  • Gather industry intelligence and market research from various sources
  • Prepare and maintain investor presentation slides and backup
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly Board of Directors presentation materials

Skills:

  • Must be detail-oriented and have exemplary analytical, modeling, organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing projects to ensure timely deliverables
  • Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision
  • Advanced financial analysis, forecasting and modeling skills with the ability to translate analysis quickly into practical results
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present analysis and recommendations in verbal and written form

Education/Training:

  • Bachelors Degree, with concentration in finance, economics, accounting or related area preferred

Experience:

  • 3-4 years of relevant business experience in corporate finance, strategic planning, consulting and/or accounting roles (FP&A roles that support complex modeling, analysis, budgeting and forecasting of business impacts / trends preferred)
  • Experience with, or advising, a public company preferred
  • Experience with Bloomberg and Cognos preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
